Unity Windows Store build woes

2/7/2016

I started development on "The Bounty Hunter" with the goal of submitting for the Unity Windows Store contest. I began the game as a multiplayer boss battling game but had to scrap the idea because time was short. The goal was to have at least 8 bosses for the players to battle against. I wasted about half my time trying to get multiplayer working which meant that I had less time developing interesting and challenging boss fights. I ended up only having two boss fights that I was satisfied with before the contest deadline. I will continue to develop the game until I have at least 8 bosses but the initial version of the game only contains two bosses.

I was expecting for the windows store build to be smooth but it was the complete opposite. There were bugs when compiling the game directly from Unity which resulted in very strange errors from the Windows Certification Kit. Luckily, there was one other user that was experiencing the exact same problem as myself and it was able to resolve but it was not until a couple of days after the initial January 27th submission date. It ended up working out and now the game is awaiting certification. I will work on uploading a WebGL version of the game for testing. Thanks for reading!
